Salinas del Rey & Puerto Velero
The adventure begins on Colombia’s most famous kite coast.
In Salinas del Rey, expect steady, side-on wind, small clean waves, and a downwind playground for intermediate to expert riders.
You’ll stay in a relaxed beachfront kitesurf house, share good food, beers at sunset, and stories with fellow riders — just steps from the water.

DAYS 5-8
Mayapo
Transfer to Mayapo, Coco Kite’s home and heart of your Guajira experience. Here, the powerful wind keeps blowing, and you get to choose your playground:
The open sea, with its rolling chop and long tacks for confident riders, or
The nearby lagoon, a flat-water haven perfect for freestyle, progression or playful cruising.
You’ll settle into a comfortable kite house just steps from the beach, designed for riders, with shaded hangout zones, hammocks, and a relaxed desert vibe.
That evening, enjoy your first Guajira sunset and feel the rhythm slow down — you’re entering a different world.

Cabo de la Vela > Back to Riohacha

Cabo offers strong, gusty wind, shallow bays and stunning views of desert meeting sea. Ride all afternoon, then relax in comfortable beachfront Wayuu hotels, enjoy local seafood and recharge with oceanfront sunsets.
